Mission Statement:
To use available resources within the Christian community to develop a web presence for that same community and individuals within that community.
Purpose:
Objectives - To provide outreach services to the community through the offering of individual skills and services in the development of web based environments and graphical representations.
Composition – Sponsored by the Boyd’s-Franktown Pastoral Charge, and open to youth between the ages of 13 and 21 within the community serviced by Boyd’s United Church, Boyd’s Settlement and St. Paul’s United Church, Franktown. Adult volunteers from the sponsoring organization will provide supervision and direction.
Methodology
Members of the Boyd’s-Franktown Webmasters will be provided the opportunity to utilize skills that they have developed through formal education programs, or on their own to create and maintain a web presence for the Boyd’s-Franktown Pastoral Charge.
In addition to using these skills, members will be provided knowledge of Project Management, and through the offering of their skills to the Churches and Charges within Renfrew Presbytery and to businesses/individuals within the community; the Boyd’s-Franktown Webmasters will have to opportunity of developing a small business.
The Boyd’s-Franktown Webmasters will not receive any financial compensation in any form for the services that they will provide for the community, however, if their clients so desire, a financial contribution may be made to the Pastoral Charge or a charity of their choice.
At no time will the Boyd’s-Franktown Webmasters ever purchase, create or maintain a Web Hosting service. Individuals and organizations utilizing the services of the Boyd’s-Franktown Webmasters must provide their own web-hosting environment.
Services Offered:
Through the use of project teams, the Boyd’s-Franktown
Webmasters will:
- Create/maintain web pages for the Boyd’s-Franktown Pastoral Charge,
and the Churches and organizations within that Pastoral Charge;
- Offer the services of the Boyd’s-Franktown Webmasters to create/maintain
web pages for Pastoral Charges and Churches within the Renfrew Presbytery; and
- Offer the services of the Boyd’s-Franktown Webmasters to businesses
and/or individuals within community to create posters, cards, advertisement
and web sites; and
Expenses:
The Boyd’s-Franktown Webmasters offer their services free of charge, however, any expenses incurred during the completion of a project are the responsibility of the Client. Should the Client so desire, a contribution in appreciation of services rendered may be made to the Boyd’s-Franktown Pastoral Charge. Upon request, a receipt for a Charitable Donation will be provided.
Note: Time spent with the Boyd’s-Franktown Webmaster in the development/delivery of a project for a client can be accredited to Community Service for both Graduation purposes and for the Duke of Edinburgh program.
